Methods to bulk upload/add files

There are a few methods to bulk upload files to Fileflare. I will go into more depth below:

Method 1 – Connecting your own S3 server

You can connect your own S3 storage server to Fileflare so that Fileflare uses it as the main storage host for your files.

This allows you to control your storage costs without limitations, and securely host all of your files with your own account. Fileflare reads the files directly from your S3 and delivers secure links to your customers.

You can add this easily. Here are two guides for our recommended storage solution:

Connect your Cloudflare R2 S3 storage to Fileflare
Connect your Amazon S3 storage to Fileflare
Other S3 servers with price comparisons

Method 2 – Upload files using the native Fileflare uploader

Fileflare has an Upload section where you can upload as many files as you want with any file size, as long as it's within your plan's allocated storage allowance. We would recommend uploading in batches to avoid upload failures (e.g. don't upload hundreds or thousands at once).

If you need to upload thousands of files, I would recommend using your own S3 server in Method 1, then uploading them using your S3 provider's uploader. Once the S3 is connected to Fileflare, you can read all of the files from your server and load them into Fileflare.

Once you have uploaded all of your files, you can use our bulk CSV feature to attach all of the files to your Shopify products.

Method 3 – Using our API

Fileflare has a public API where you can upload files using your own custom methods. This requires a developer with experience. The API is self-sufficient for developers and our support cannot help with this.

Method 4 – Bulk add external URLs + attach to products

The way Fileflare works is by adding assets to the app and then attaching those assets to products. Once a product is ordered, the attached files will be delivered to the customer.

Fileflare has the ability to create URL Assets, meaning you can deliver an external URL after purchase, such as FusionFile, Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.
