Bulk-send download emails to your customers
To send download emails to many customers, there are three methods that allow this:
Method 1 - Using the Replace file function. Only deliver 1 asset at a time.
Method 2 - Using the Release date function. Only deliver 1 asset at a time.
Method 3 - Using the customer account downloads function. Deliver multiple assets.
All of these methods will bulk send emails to your previous customers. You just need to decide which one you would like to use for your use-case.
Method 1 - Using the replace file method, you will need the Basic plan or higher. This only works with one asset at a time. You cannot send a single email with multiple assets.
Method 2 - Using the release date method, you will need the Premium plan. This only works with one asset at a time. You cannot send a single email with multiple assets.
Method 3 - Using the customer account method, you will need the Premium plan. You will also need to be using the Classic Customer Accounts by Shopify. Shopify does not allow the New Customer Accounts to work with apps. This method works when customers have ordered multiple assets in a single order.
How does this work? The download emails will only send to customers that have bought the Shopify products that the asset is attached to. Please ensure that you have attached the asset to the correct products before continuing.
Go to the asset page
Click the "Update asset" button
Replace the asset with the same asset
Next, the app will ask if you want to inform any previous customers of the newly updated version. If you do want to inform them, click "Yes", and the app will send a download email to each of those customers that have bought the Shopify product that the asset is attached to. The app will read the products that are attached to the asset, then find all orders that bought that product.
